ICICI Lombard General Insurance has launched a live video inspection facility for quicker settlement of motor insurance claims. Through this feature, called 'InstaSpect', claims settlement can be done instantly.
Once there is a damage to a vehicle, a motor insurance policyholder is required to go to the 'insure' app and click on the InstaSpect option. Once that is done, a live call is held with the claims manager at the insurer who then asks customers to give a detailed video footage of the car and the parts that have been damaged.
Based on the live feed, a rough estimate of the damage and the liability is provided to the policyholder. The details and approvals are sent to the workshop in the time the vehicle is being transported there.
If there is poor connectivity, there is an option to click a photograph of the damages in the vehicle and send it to the insurance company. However, in this case, the time taken to settle the claim could be longer.
Sanjeev Mantri, executive director, ICICI Lombard General Insurance said that 'InstaSpect' would enable a quick and hassle free claims settlement process for the motor insurance policyholders.
