Private sector non-life insurer Bajaj Allianz General Insurance has launched domestic travel insurance plan, Bharat Bhraman, for travels outside as well as within a city. The policy offers mandatory personal accident (PA) cover for all public as well as private modes of transport such as bus, train, flight, taxi, cab service by e-commerce aggregators, personal car, two-wheeler or even bicycle. The sum insured ranges from Rs 50,000 to Rs 10 lakh.
Minimum premium for an annual plan with mandatory PA cover of Rs 50,000 and all add-ons including adventure sports cover will cost Rs 2,078 while the maximum premium in case the customer opts for PA cover of Rs 10 lakh with all add-ons except adventure sports will be Rs 3,365. The premium for a per trip plan will cost less than Rs 5 while for a 1-2 day travel the premium will be in the range of Rs 20-Rs 50 depending on the add-on covers opted by customers."Bharat Brahman offers customers a wide range of customisable covers at an extremely affordable price and covers every possible mode of transport," Tapan Singhel, managing director and chief executive, Bajaj Allianz General Insurance said. An individual can take cover for a particular mode of transport or multiple modes of transport and can also choose the tenure which could be for a trip, for a single day or multiple number of days depending upon the length of travel. Alternatively frequent travellers can opt for an annual cover.
Apart from the mandatory personal accident cover, the policy also offers 17 optional covers which includes adventure sports cover, home burglary cover, trip cancellation or curtailment cover. Besides, the policy also includes features like missed connection or loss of baggage.
